You might easily get disappointed once you have expectation.
Many said Scotland is the most worth visiting place in the UK, with lots of historical buildings and stunning views. However, I wasn’t amazed of my 5 days trip in Edinburgh and High Land.

The weather was the first thing to be blamed. During our trip up to High Land from Edinburgh, the weather was so bad, with heavy rain all the time. Also, in Scotland, the weather was changeable in every minute, I am not exaggerating! You might have to wear sunglasses and hold an umbrella at the same time.
Also, I felt a bit sick sitting in a tiny van, running on all those twisted roads. My head whirled.... Even though the tour guide was trying to wake everyone up by talking some jokes, I felt sleepy most of the time in the van.
Tour guide was Scottish. He could manage non-stop talking for hours, telling all those fairy tales, mystery about every place we passed by. He also likes teasing American and Irish, saying they are simple and dopey. For example, Scottish are proud of their whisky. “Irish whiskey is not good as ours, I even don’t know why they put “e” in spelling of whisky.’

This is a normal size of telephone booth in UK. Tour members tried to break the record of having 13 people in the booth. A man tried to lift a girl up to the top, and it’s lucky that I was the last one to join the game, otherwise, I think I would have been squashed by the others. At last, we just could manage 11.5 people to squeeze in. I think it was not bad.

This is Loch Ness. The American guys in our tour were so brave, they jumped into the cold water without hesitation. I appreciated what they did. Sometimes, traveling is not just taking a picture in front of the historical or landmark buildings, but it is an experience. They can tell their grandsons, granddaughters they once swam in Loch Ness..sounds cool, isn’t it?

This is Edinburgh Castle. We did not get into it as expensive admission fee.

This is hairy coo. Both of my flat mates like it very much, saying it’s cute.

We only tried Scottish food once, haggis and Scottish traditional dessert. Haggis is a Scottish old dish which comprised of minced lamb, mashed potatoes, and carrots. In the old days, people used cow’s intestines, sheep’s lung, liver to make haggis, but nowadays, they normally use minced lamb instead. The taste was alright, not too bad. The Scottish traditional dessert was a bit ‘special’. Actually I was wondering I could name it as dessert because it didn’t have any sweet at all.

It was the view outside the hostel room in Edinburgh. We stayed in a room with 14 beds, however, it was surprisingly no one snored at night...

It was the hostel we stayed in High Land.

They are my flat mates, Korean girl KJ and Taiwanese girl Echo. They are both my close friends here. Even though the trip wasn’t as good as I expected, it was good experience. I don’t think there are many chances for three of us to travel again, having laughter and chatting day and night.
